General Rules

  • Be respectful to everyone.
  • You must be a member of our Discord to play.
  • SC2 Pulse must be posted in our discord under “Welcome – Honesty check” if you have more than one account, you MUST submit your highest MMR account.
  • To do this search your battle net ID on the SC2 Pulse  website click on your name, than copy and paste the link in the Honesty check channel on discord.
  • Have fun. The reason I created this league was to provide a community where people of all skill levels could come together and help each other improve and have fun together.
  • The league will make decisions with everyone’s best interest in mind.

Discord etiquette

  • again, Be respectful to everyone.
  • If you have any issues with smurfing, BM or any other unacceptable behavior, please message Glacius and/or an Intern privately. Do not do it publicly.
  • Talking about politics, religion or any other offensive topic is not allowed. 
  • Do not argue with other members.
  • Unacceptable messages will be deleted.
  • Offensive names are not allowed.
  • Please use the discord channels as intended.

Division Eligibility

We offer four divisions to ensure the best games possible. Each division has different requirements using the mmr below regardless of what server your account is from. The required ranked games are over the last 60 days, not Blizzard season. We use a 30 day depth average MMR, you can find your average MMR on SC2 Pulse.

Initiate (B-P)

Average MMR = < 3120

Ranked games played = 20 

Veteran (D2-D2)

Average MMR = < 3867

Ranked games played = 30 

Prestige (D1-M2)

Average MMR = < 4671

Ranked games played = 40

Elite (M1-GM)

No requirements.

Exceptions may be implemented

  • If you are a new player wanting to play in the initiate division and haven’t played the required amount of games, you may ask Glacius for an exception.
  • You are allowed to play in a division above your mmr range if you’re up for it.
  • If you have “suspicious” on your SC2 Pulse you can’t play.
  • If we see you’re dropping games we may require additional ladder games to be played or we will deem your account ineligible.

Race

  • Whatever race you register with you must play that race every game.
  • If you are playing your off-race, you must play in the same division as your main race. Even if your off-races MMR is much lower.
  • Random is allowed.

Game

Chat

  • You must join the in-game chat AMATEUR on the NA server, this can be done by typing the command /join amateur. If you’re having issues joining amateur, please join amateur2.

1) Type /join amateur on the NA server

2) Press enter.

  • Please ensure non-friends can message you in-game.

3) Ensure these boxes are NOT checked.

Walkovers (WO)

  • After Glacius has officially started the tournament, please refresh challonge to see who you are playing.
  • Once you know who your opponent is, message them on battle net and discord. if you can’t get a hold of them within 10 minutes, message Glacius and/or an Intern right away, and mark the score 99-0 representing the walkover.
  • This 10 minute timer happens every round of the tournament.

Disconnected

  • If you or your opponent gets disconnected, please contact Glacius and/or an Intern right away.
  • Try to restart the match from the replay (If you are unsure how to do this, message an admin).
  • If that does not work, please restart the match right away.
  •  If you are unable to start the match within 10 minutes, the player that got disconnected loses.

Maps & Veto

  • Only the current ladder map pool is allowed.
  •  Map veto starts with the player with the lower seed, then the higher seed player chooses (L, H, L, H).
  •  mAP SELECTION WORKS THE SAME WAY AS VETO. sTART WITH THE LOWER SEED PLAYER (iF A bO1, LOWER SEED HAS THE ONLY SELECTION), THEN THE HIGHER SEED CHOOSES (L, H, L, H).

pAUSE

  • You are not allowed to pause the game unless you have a valid reason. Examples of this are mouse and keyboard issues.

Server

  • Our league runs on the NA server, you must start there.
  • if you and your opponent want to switch the server for your match it is ok ONLY if you both agree.
  •  If you can’t agree, here are some great suggestions

Tie

  • if you and your opponent can’t finish the match and can’t agree on a winner (Could be the player with the higher supply) please quit and restart your match right away.
  • Please message Glacius and/or an Intern to inform them of the situation.

Other information

Casters

  • Casters must use a 60+ second stream delay to ensure fair play.
  • When available, if a caster asks to join your party to cast your match, please invite them so we can have as much coverage of the tournament as possible. 
  • Please make the game with the WCS gameheart mod if your game is being casted.
  • All streams will be on our websites Game day homepage.

Points

  • At the start of every season everyone’s points are reset to 0.
  • Each tournament the top 8 players in each bracket are rewarded points (Except the year-end grand finals).
  • 1st – 100, 2nd – 75, 3rd – 50, 4th – 25, 5th-8th – 10, 9th + – 0.
  • If you move to a new division, points earned in one division cannot be carried over to the new one.
  • The top 8 players with the most points at the end of a season will get invited to the Major tournament.
  • Players that play in the Major tournaments get ALT points that count towards the Year-end Grand Finals.

Prize Pool

  • All 4 division winners will receive these prizes.

Weekly & Monthly

  •  No cash Prize
  • 1st-8th place receive Amateur League Points
  • 9th+ Receive no points.

Major (Inivte only)

  •  1st – $15 USD
  • 2nd – $10 USD
  • 3rd – $5 USD

Year-end Grand Finals (Invite only)

  •  1st – $85
  • 2nd – $35
  • 3rd – $10

Amateur League Awards

  • Once the awards are determined, each award winner will receive a cash prize.

* All donations collected will be added to the Year-End Grand Finals prize pool *

promotion

  • If your AVG MMR becomes too high in the LAST 4 weeks of the 12 week season, you are allowed to finish that season in that bracket. This includes the seasonal Major Tournament, but you will not be able to play in the Year-End Grand Final Tournament unless it is season 4.

registration

  1. Click on Tournament Registration menu, than click your division link.
  2. Once on the challonge page, click the register button, answer the questions. (Registration closes 5 minutes before start time)
  3. In order to play you must CHECK IN during the two hour window before the tournament begins. To do this, go to the Challonge Bracket page (not the Registration page) for your tournament: there should be a check in button on that page. If you do not check in before tournament start you will be automatically removed by Challonge.
     
  4. If you are not registered and checked in by start time, you will not be able to play. No exceptions
  5. All set! Any issues or if you want to confirm you’re checked-in please message Glacius and/or Interns.

Season Format

  • We play 4 seasons a year (12 weeks a season)
  • After every season we play a Major tournament. These tournaments are INVITE ONLY for the top 8 players in each division (If a top 8 player cannot attend, the next player in-line will be asked. So if you’re not in the top 8, you still have a chance).
  • The winner of the Major tournament will be placed in the Amateur League Hall Of Fame and be seeded into the Year-end Grand Finals.
  •  Year-End Grand Finals – Invite Only, all the Major tournament winners get a spot, the remaining openings go to the players that have the most points over the entire year.

Seeding

  • Most Amateur League points.
  • If players are TIED for a spot
    • The player with the most tournaments played wins the top spot.
    • (If still tied) The player who played in the earliest tournament that season wins. (Example – P1 played in week 1, P2 played in week 8, P1 wins.)
    • (If still tied) Highest AVG MMR player wins.

Time Zone

  • The Amateur League Tournament uses US Central time zone (CDT, CST) 

Tournament Format

Weekly & Monthly

  • Double-elimination.
  • Bo3 rounds, Bo3 Semi, Bo5 Finals.
  • Losers bracket Bo1, Losers Final Bo1.
  • Top 8 Players receive Amateur League points.

Major & Year-End Grand Finals (Invite only)

  • Single-elimination.
  • Bo3 rounds, Bo5 Semi, Bo7 Finals.
  • Top 3 Players receive Prize pool.

* If there are only 2 players in the tournament, they will play a best of 5 (weekly/monthly) or best of 7 (Major) single-elimination. No substitution *

Types of Tourments

  • Weekly – Three Sunday’s a month @ 12PM (US Central – CDT, CST)
  • Monthly – One Saturday a month @ 8PM (US Central – CDT, CST)
  • Major Tournament (Invite only) – At the end of every season (4 seasons a year) we have a invitational Tournament for the top 8 players in each bracket. The winner of each bracket locks in a spot to the Year-End Grand Finals.
  • Year-End Grand Finals (Invite only) – Each of the season’s winners and the remaining spots go to the players who have allocated the most points over the year.
  • Special Events – These can be any type of game, from team games to free for all’s, keep an eye out in discord.
